William:
Described by family as a smart little boy, William is now four years old and thriving. He enjoys all things Thomas the Train, watching Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and playing outside in all types of weather. He has overcome so many challenges thus far and his Mommy is only hoping for the best going foward. William loves to laugh and has already demonstrated promising musical skills. He enjoys singing radio jingles in the car. His mother is now working with him on learning about the music of Stevie Wonder. Queen's hit "We Will Rock You" is a favorite song of his. William is a curious toddler who is helpful and kind. He adores his family in Texas especially his Granny and Grandpa for whom he shares his middle name.
Mommy:
William’s mommy is Olivia Sanders, a multimedia journalist who enjoys telling the unheard stories of everyday people, like herself. She was compelled to turn the cameras on for William and herself during his 84 day NICU stay. She was able to capture beautiful moments and sad times as well. Through telling his story, Olivia hopes to help other NICU families tell their story. She also seeks to change the discourse in America on motherhood. She describes herself as the reluctant mother.
